"We
create with our ancestors at our back. Our voices are connected
to a collective past: building bridges as we make our journey across."
The World
Theatre Workshop is an academic course that meets the general education
requirement for humanities. Although enrollment is not mandatory,
students may contract for 1-3 credits. Those interested in technical
positions may design an independent program in the areas of sound
design, costume design, dramaturgy, stage management or playwriting.
Auditions for performers are open to all university
students, faculty, staff and the community.
Scripts developed by the workshop in collaboration
with student playwrights are presented as one of two annual productions.
The second production by an established playwright is presented
in cooperation with the Department of Theatre.
We invite you to join this award-winning program
and experience the joy of its commitment to rediscover and celebrate
global issues of ethnicity and culture through the presentation
of exciting theatrical productions.
