part of MU Theatre's World Theatre Workshop

The Every 28 Hours Plays is a national performance project that takes its name from the shared and contested statistic that every twenty-eight hours a Black person is killed in the US by police or vigilante. Originally developed in St. Louis with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The One-Minute Play Festival, and in association with theatre makers from across the country, it features multiple short plays and a post-production talkback. Come join the conversation.

The Every 28 Hours Plays are executive produced by CALLING UP. They were co-created and produced by Claudia Alick of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) and Dominic D’Andrea of The One-Minute Play Festival (1MPF), with participation from St. Louis artists and community members, as well as playwrights and guest artists throughout the nation. Originally created and produced in St. Louis, the project swelled into a coordinated series of readings and engagements all over the country, sponsored and presented by our partnering theatres.
