Brad M. Carlson is an Associate Professor of Theatre Design at the University of Missouri where he teaches coursework in Scenic, Lighting and Sound Design as well as Stage Management, Stagecraft, and Computer Graphics for the Theatre. Brad has a BA in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Northern Iowa and an MFA in Scenic Design from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Brad was the recipient of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF)/Association for Theatre in Higher Education Innovative Teaching Award in 2016. A scenographer, his design work has received four KCACTF certificates of merit. Most recently for his Projection Design for Hedwig and the Angry Inch. His professional work has taken him to numerous professional theatres throughout the Midwest and east coast including the world-renowned Glimmerglass Festival in central New York. Brad is honored to serve as the KCACTF Region 5 Workshop Coordinator and Design Intensive Coordinator, and is the incoming vice-chair for KCACTF Region 5.
