Summer Lineup Announced for Mizzou’s Summer Repertory Theatre

Mizzou’s Larry D. Clark Summer Repertory Theatre lineup for 2023 will have audiences laughing, pondering and singing along.

Shows will include performances of Jacked! and Little Shop of Horrors, as well as Comedies in Concert featuring readings of original material.

When the curtain rises, more than 100 performers will continue the legacy of Larry D. Clark, former chair of the Department of Theatre and former dean of the MU College of Arts and Science, who began the summer theater company in 1969. Clark, who died in 2014, envisioned having professional theatre performances in Columbia. Since then, the department continues to invite Broadway professionals, such as choreographers, to work alongside student and alumni performers.

“Larry Clark’s program allows students to broaden their talents through a hands-on experience working alongside alumni as paid professionals in a theatre company,” says Mimi Hedges, department chair, associate professor, scenic designer and director of production.

This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it… BLOOD.
