
Fall Lineup Announced for Mizzou’s Theatre
Welcome to the stage! Mizzou Theatre has an impressive fall line-up of performances. We welcome back Broadway Playwright and recently enrolled MU Theatre graduate student, Keenan Scott II, as he performs his play, "The Genius of Being Stupid" and introduce the award-winning, student-written "American Girl(s). Plus, get ready to roll with laughter at the hilarious musical comedy "Urinetown!"

The Genius of Being Stupid
Sept. 18-22
The 2024 Life and Literature Performance Series features Broadway Playwright and MU graduate student Keenan Scott II’s new original one-man show, The Genius of Being Stupid, which he will perform and will be directed by Brandon Riley on September 18-21 at 7:30 p.m.
The performance will be followed by other short solo works by student playwrights on September 22 at 2 p.m.with artistic director Dr. Heather Carver.

American Girl(s)
Oct. 3-6
Directed by Kasey Lynch and written by MU student Abby Uphoff, American Girl(s) is an award-winning, one-act play that follows MJ, a jaded young woman with existential tendencies who grapples with loss and learns to grieve, heal, scream, sing, and question what it means to grow up as an American Girl.

Urinetown

Urinetown is the cleanest musical satire about the dirtiest of subjects–great for all ages! Directed by Dr. Joy Powell.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
