Bio

Reagan Venturi (she/her) is a Ph.D. student whose research investigates theatrical praxis during periods of censorship and its influence on identity formation. Her academic work analyzes the role of dramaturgical interventions as a placemaking tool within “the canon,” recontextualizing it as a legible site of resistance during periods of increased scrutiny towards public theatrical content. She remains dedicated to promoting inclusive practices that reflect the multiplicity of identities present in today’s theatre classrooms and rehearsal spaces. As a dramaturg, she specializes in New Play Development and served as the production dramaturg for MU’s production of American Girls (2024). Currently, she teaches THEA 1400: Acting for Non-Majors and THEA 3440: Acting for the Camera. In Spring 2027, she will direct an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People.
