Zach Apony Moriarty (they/them) received a BA in dramaturgy from Hampshire College and completed their Master’s in Theatre at Villanova University this May, collaborating with theatre companies in the Pioneer Valley and Philadelphia area along the way. They excitedly began their PhD journey at Mizzou in Fall 2021, where they anticipate continuing to bring their work in dramaturgy, scholarship, and administration into vibrant theatre communities. They have been published in New England Theatre Journal and won three dramaturgy awards at the 2021 KCACTF Region 2 conference. Their main areas of focus in production and research are adapting older stories for a radical present, dismantling the canon, challenging hierarchies, creating spaces for inter-/cross-cultural contact, and employing revolutionary theatre practices in everything we do.
