The Graduate Theatre Organization (GTO) enhances the experience of the Masters and PhD students in the Department of Theatre by supporting their creative endeavors as theatre makers and practitioners as well as their professional development as theatre educators and scholars.

This is accomplished through the funding of conference presentations, sponsoring guest speakers and pursuing creative opportunities beyond the department, as well as facilitating engagement with the University and the larger community.

Since its inception in 2008, GTO members have presented papers, moderated panels and performed both regionally and nationally at the Mid-America Theatre Conference and the conferences of the Central States Communication Association and the Association of Theatre in Higher Education, among others.
